The game
SPASTAZ is a tactical SWAT shooter built the way they used to be: blocky, fast and unforgiving, with one life a round and a team that has to work as one. Running on its own ORPHAN engine, it pairs that early-2000s look with a simulation that takes every bullet, every door and every wound seriously.
Each round starts before the shooting does. Your team gathers over a top-down tactical map and draws the plan floor by floor: the route, the entry points, the danger zones, where the flashbangs go. Then the claim board opens and everyone scrambles for roles and kit. Element Leader, Pointman, Breacher, Less-Lethal. Someone grabs the ballistic shield, someone gets the night vision, and the buy menu does the rest. Go in through the front door, or vote for the helicopter and fast-rope onto the roof.
Inside, nothing is simple. Slide an optiwand under a door to see what's waiting. Wedge it shut, hammer it in, or blow it off its hinges with C2. Cut the building's power at the fuse box and clear the dark on night vision. Shout "POLICE! GET ON THE GROUND!" and watch who complies, who runs, and who drops the gun only to go for another. Hostages need securing, evidence needs saving, and sometimes there's a bomb on a timer that only careful hands and the right wire can stop.
When it goes wrong, it goes wrong for real. Bodies have organs, bones and five litres of blood. A round through the lung leaves you fighting for air, a broken leg won't hold you, and bleeding out is slow and terrifying. Your teammates can save you with tourniquets, packed wounds, chest seals and splints, or drag you out of the line of fire. Sound travels through the building at its real speed, muffled by walls, loud enough to leave your ears ringing.
And when the round ends, the story doesn't. Watch leaked body-cam footage under a news chyron, see the injury charts, read the forensics team's case file reconstructed from every round fired, and get graded by the book on how well your team followed SWAT procedure.
Features
- Tactical SWAT vs suspects for up to 16 players, or fill the teams with bots that clear rooms as a stack, hold angles, call things out on the radio and surrender when they've lost their nerve (or pretend to).
- 24 maps, from a diner and a pawn shop to a hospital, a school, a nightclub and a rail yard.
- North Hollywood, 1997. A one-round heist mode: two robbers in homemade armour, a bank vault, a getaway car with a manual gearbox, and a police force that keeps coming.
- Guns that work like the real thing. Chambered rounds, tactical and speed reloads, magazine checks, jams and locked-open slides, plus a less-lethal arsenal of Tasers, beanbags and pepperballs.
- A body worth protecting. Organs, fractures, internal bleeding, shock and unconsciousness, with hands-on field medicine and drugs that change how you fight.
- Physical bullets that penetrate, ricochet and shatter glass pane by pane, with walls and doors that break apart where they're hit.
- Ragdolls you control. Get knocked down, fight from the floor, crawl, reload on your back and get up when you can.
- Hand to hand. Punches, kicks, blocks, knife work and restraints for when the gun isn't the answer.
- Proximity voice and radios. Your voice carries through the building, and your team's radio chatter can give away the man sneaking up on a suspect.
- The aftermath. Cinematic debriefs, wanted posters, an after-action report with a letter grade, and a printable forensic case file.
- Make it yours. Build maps in the Spade editor, sculpt terrain, water and foliage with the in-game world editor, and add new modes and content through ORPHAN's mod system.
One life. One building. Make it count.
